  • So true, So amazing...
I try harder to fix in this society, but i am different in many ways. My nature, my behavior. I suffered from lots of anger, mood swings, etc Its like I became a weirdo in my friends group. I am alone, no much friends. No'one stays, left. So what...God loves me abundantly and I am safe, secure, feeling pride in him. He never going to leave ME at all. The image suits here very well. (Instagram:-avnisamuel_believer)

He fights for me. And I believer one day I am going to be a much better person then ever before, I am. It's a process and I'm going through it. I'm trying to be NORMAL with everyone. I'm trying to show compassion, mercy, love, forgiveness... In return Pointing fingers @end.
  • Pray to God
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! Seek the #Lord and His strength; seek His face evermore! 1 #Chronicles 16:10, 11

Prayer is not understood as it should be. Our prayers are not to inform God of something He does not know. The Lord is acquainted with the secrets of every soul. Our prayers need not be long and loud. God reads the hidden thoughts. We may pray in secret, and He who sees in secret will hear, and will reward us openly.

The prayers that are offered to God to tell Him of all our wretchedness, when we do not feel wretched at all, are the prayers of hypocrisy. It is the contrite prayer that the #Lord regards. “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”

Prayer is not intended to work any change in God; it brings us into harmony with God. It does not take the place of duty. #Prayer offered ever so often and ever so earnestly will never be accepted by #God in the place of our tithe. Prayer will not pay our debts to #%God....

The strength acquired in prayer to #God will prepare us for our daily duties. The temptations to which we are daily exposed make prayer a necessity. In order that we may be kept by the power of God through faith, the desires of the mind should be continually ascending in silent prayer.

When we are surrounded by influences calculated to lead us away from God, our petitions for help and strength must be unwearied. Unless this is so, we shall never be successful in breaking down pride and overcoming the power of temptation to sinful indulgences which keep us from the Savior. The light of truth, sanctifying the life, will discover to the receiver the sinful passions of the heart which are striving for the mastery, and which make it necessary ... to stretch every nerve and exert all the powers to resist #Satan that he or she may conquer through the merits of #Christ.
  • Devine Truth
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the #divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 #Peter 1:4.

It is the duty of every child of #God to store his mind with divine truth; and the more he does this, the more strength and clearness of mind he will have to fathom the deep things of God. And he will be more and more earnest and vigorous, as the principles of truth are carried out in his daily life.

That which will bless humanity is #spiritual life. He who is in harmony with #God, will constantly depend upon Him for strength. “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” It should be our life work to be constantly reaching forward to the perfection of #Christian character, ever striving for conformity to the will of God. The efforts begun here will continue through eternity. The advancement made here will be ours when we enter upon the future life.

Those who are partakers of #Christ’s meekness, purity, and love, will be joyful in God, and will shed light and gladness upon all around them. The thought that Christ died to obtain for us the gift of everlasting life, is enough to call forth from our hearts the most sincere and fervent gratitude, and from our lips the most enthusiastic praise. God’s promises are rich, and full, and free. Whoever will, in the strength of #Christ, comply with the conditions, may claim these promises, with all their wealth of blessing, as his own. And being thus abundantly supplied from the treasure-house of #God, he may, in the journey of life, “walk worthy of the #Lord unto all pleasing;” by a #godly example blessing his fellow-men, and honoring his Creator. While our Saviour would guard His followers from self-confidence by the reminder, “Without me, ye can do nothing,” He has coupled with it for our encouragement the gracious assurance, “He that abideth in me ... bringeth forth much fruit.”
  • Jesus
My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the Lord . Psalm 104:34.

Rest yourself wholly in the hands of #Jesus. Contemplate His great love, and while you meditate upon His self-denial, His infinite sacrifice made in our behalf in order that we should believe in Him, your heart will be filled with holy joy, calm peace, and indescribable love. As we talk of Jesus, as we call upon Him in prayer, our confidence that He is our personal, loving Saviour will strengthen, and His character will appear more and more lovely.... We may enjoy rich feasts of love, and as we fully believe that we are His by adoption, we may have a foretaste of heaven. Wait upon the #Lord in faith. The #Lord draws out the soul in #prayer, and gives us to feel His precious love. We have a nearness to Him, and can hold sweet communion with Him. We obtain distinct views of His tenderness and compassion, and our hearts are broken and melted with contemplation of the love that is given to us. We feel indeed an abiding Christ in the soul.... Our peace is like a river, wave after wave of glory rolls into the heart, and indeed we sup with Jesus and He with us. We have a realizing sense of the love of God, and we rest in His love. No language can describe it, it is beyond knowledge. We are one with #Christ, our life is hid with #Christ in #God. We have the assurance that when He who is our life shall appear, then shall we also appear with Him in glory. With strong confidence, we can call God our Father. Whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. His Spirit makes us like #Jesus Christ in temper, and disposition, and we represent Christ to others. When #Christ is abiding in the soul the fact cannot be hid; for He is like a well of water springing up into everlasting life. We can but represent the likeness of Christ in our character, and our words, our deportment, produces in others a deep, abiding, increasing love for #Jesus, and we make manifest ... that we are conformed to the image of #Jesus #Christ.
  • The Hope of The Fallen Race
The #grace of Christ alone could change the heart of stone to a heart of flesh, make it alive unto God, and transform the character, so that a degraded child of sin might become a child of God, an heir of heaven. #Man had no power to justify the #soul, to sanctify the heart. Moral disease could be healed only through the power of the great #Physician. The highest gift of #Heaven, even the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth, was able to redeem the lost.

The only hope for the fallen race was found in becoming reconciled to God. Satan had so misrepresented God that man had no true conception of the divine character. #Christ came to the world, and, in carrying out the plan of salvation, revealed to man that “God is love.”

When the plan of salvation was revealed to the #angels, #joy, inexpressible joy, filled heaven. The glory and blessedness of a world redeemed, out-measured even the anguish of the Prince of life. Through the celestial courts echoed the first strain of that song that angels sang above the hills of Bethlehem: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” And the lost pair in the garden of Eden, standing as criminals before the righteous Judge, waiting the sentence their #transgression merited, heard the first notes of the divine promise. Before the life of toil and sorrow which sin had brought upon them was depicted before them, before the decree that the wages of sin is death was pronounced, they heard the promise of redemption. Though they must suffer from the power of their mighty foe, still through the merits of Christ they could look forward to victory. The mystery of the #gospel was spoken in #Eden when #God said to the serpent: “I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” If Satan could have touched the Head with his specious temptations, the human family would be lost; but the #Lord had made known the purpose and plan of the #mystery of #grace, declaring that #Christ should bruise the serpent under his feet.

Not only had man come under the power of the #deceiver, but the earth itself, the dominion of man, was usurped by the enemy. Through the plan of salvation, through the sacrifice of #Christ, not only man, but his dominion, was to be #redeemed. Because of the merits of #Christ, all that man lost through sin was to be restored. The time would come when there should be no more curse, but the throne of #God should be in the earth renewed, and his servants should serve Him. The promise would be fulfilled, “The #righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein forever.”

Through the plan of salvation, a larger purpose is to be wrought out even than the salvation of man and the redemption of the earth. Through the revelation of the character of #God in #Christ, the beneficence of the divine government will be manifested before the universe, the charge of Satan against God refuted, the nature and result of sin made plain, and the perpetuity of the law fully demonstrated. #Satan had declared that the law of #God was faulty, and that the good of the universe demanded a change in its requirements. In attacking the law, he thought to overthrow the authority of its #Author, and gain for himself the supreme allegiance. But through the plan of salvation, the precepts of the law were to be proved perfect and immutable, that at last one tide of #glory and love might go up throughout the universe, ascribing glory and honour and praise to Him that sitteth upon the throne, and to the Lamb forever and ever.

The inhabitants of all worlds will be convinced of the justice of the law in the overthrow of rebellion and the eradication of sin. When man, beguiled by #Satan’s #power, disobeyed the divine law, God could not, even to save the lost race, change that law. #God is love, and to change the law would be to deny Himself, to overthrow those principles with which are bound up the good of the universe. The working out of the plan of salvation reveals not only to men but to angels, the character of #God, and through the ages of eternity the malignant character of #sin will be understood by the cost to the Father and the Son of the redemption of a rebel race. In #Christ, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, all worlds will behold the marks of the curse, and angels as well as men will ascribe honour and glory to the #Redeemer through whom they are all made secure from #apostasy. The efficiency of the cross guards the redeemed race from the danger of a second fall. The life and death of #Christ effectually unveils the deceptions of #Satan, and refutes his claims. The sacrifice of #Christ for a fallen world draws not only men, but angels unto Him bonds of indissoluble union. Through the plan of salvation the justice and mercy of #God are fully vindicated, and to all eternity rebellion will never again arise, affliction never again touch the #universe of #God.
  • Chosen in Christ
We are to believe that we are chosen of God to be saved by the exercise of faith, through the grace of Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit; and we are to praise and glorify God for such a marvellous manifestation of his unmerited favour.

It is the love of #God that draws the soul to #Christ to be graciously received and presented to his Father. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, the divine relationship between God and the sinner is renewed. Our Heavenly Father says, “I will be to them a #God, and they shall be to Me a people. I will exercise forgiving love towards them, and bestow upon them my joy. They shall be to Me a peculiar treasure; for this people whom I have formed for myself shall show forth my praise.”

#Christ is calling souls to come unto Him, and it is for our present and eternal interest to hear and respond to the call. Jesus says, “Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you.” Then let all who would be called children of God respond to the invitation of Christ, and place themselves where the light of #heaven will shine upon them, where they will realise what it is to be hearers and doers of the words of #Christ, what it is to follow the Light of the world, and be accepted in the Beloved.

Everything that God could do has been done for the salvation of man. In one rich gift He poured out the treasures of #heaven. He invites, He pleads, He urges; but He will not compel men to come unto Him. He waits for their co-operation. He waits for the consent of the will, that He may bestow upon the sinner the riches of his grace, reserved for him from the foundation of the world. A man does not build himself into an habitation for the #Spirit, and unless there is a co-operation of man’s will with #God’s will, the Lord can do nothing for him. Though the Lord is the great Master-worker, yet the human agent has his part to act with the divine worker, or the heavenly building cannot be completed. All the power is of #God; yet all the responsibility rests with the human agent, for #God can do nothing without the co-operation of man. The Lord does not design that human power should be paralysed; but that by co-operation with God, man may become a more efficient agent in his hands. Though weak, erring, frail, sinful, and imperfect, the Lord holds out to man the privilege of co-partnership with Himself.

Believing in #Jesus as his personal Saviour, accepting of his righteousness by faith, the sinner becomes a partaker of the divine nature, and escapes the corruption that is in the world through lust. It is through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that the #Christian is enabled to resist temptation and to work righteousness. Without the divine nature, without the influence of the Spirit of God, man cannot work out his own salvation; for God must work in him to will and to do of his good pleasure. Christ has said, “Without Me ye can do nothing.”

The fallen race could be restored only through the merit of Him who was equal with God. Though so highly exalted, Christ consented to take upon Him human nature, that He might work in behalf of man, and reconcile to God his disloyal subject. Christ pleads his merit in our behalf. As our substitute and surety, He undertook to combat the powers of darkness in our behalf, and prevailed against the enemy of our souls, presenting to us the cup of salvation. The Prince of Life consented to bear insult and mockery, pain and death. Upon the cross of Calvary He paid redemption’s price for a lost world. It was the world that He loved, the one lost sheep that He would bring back to his fold. The #cross of #Calvary speaks the amazing love of God for the sinner. He valued him at an infinite price, giving his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. If the love of God fails to call forth a response from the human heart, if it fails to soften and subdue the soul, we are utterly lost. There is no reserve power through which to influence the sinner. Heaven’s richest gift has been freely offered for our acceptance. No greater manifestation of God’s love can be given than that which was given on Calvary’s cross. If the love of Christ does not melt and subdue the heart, by what means can man be reached? Have you failed to respond to the pleadings of his Spirit? Then no longer fortify your heart in hardness. Open the door of the heart to receive Christ, the best gift of Heaven. Let not cruel unbelief influence you to refuse the heaven-sent guest. Let not #Christ say of you, “Ye will not come unto Me that ye might have life.” With loving entreaties He follows the #sinner, pleading, “Turn ye, turn ye; for why will ye die?”
  • The Intimacy of Gods Care for Us
Jesus taught his disciples to pray. He directed them to present their daily needs before #God. As we realise our dependence upon God for both temporal and spiritual blessings, we may offer up fervent and effectual prayer. Our great need is in itself an argument that pleads most eloquently in our behalf. Your wants, your joys, your sorrows, your cares, your fears, you may present before #God. You cannot weary Him, you cannot burden his heart. Nothing is too great for Him to bear; for He upholds the worlds and rules the universe. Nothing is too small for his notice; for He marks the sparrow’s fall, and numbers the hairs of your head. He is not indifferent to the wants of his people. The Lord is very pitiful and of tender mercy. He is touched by our sorrows, and even the utterance of them moves his great heart of infinite love. There is no chapter in our experience too dark for Him to read, no perplexity too complicated for Him to unravel. Our #Heavenly #Father is not unobserving; He sees our tears, He marks our sighs, He notes our joys and sorrows. “He healeth the broken heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

The relation between God and each soul is distinct. His care to you is as minute as though there were no other soul to claim his attention. The psalmist says, “Thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. There is not a word in my tongue, but lo, O #Lord, Thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.” “Thou tellest my wanderings; put Thou my tears in thy bottle; are they not in thy book?” In the words of the psalmist is expressed the intimacy and tenderness with which God cares for his creatures. “For we have not an High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of #grace, that we may obtain #mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

We should realise that we have a friend at court, one who can plead the cause of our soul, one who will be our helper in every emergency. We should be able to sing
“What a Friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear; What a privilege to carry Everything to #God in prayer.” Jesus says, “When ye pray, believe that ye receive the things ye ask for, and ye shall have them.” You are to come to the Father, emptying the soul of every sin and defilement, that you may prove the promises of the #Lord. You cannot indulge your own temper, and have your own way, and still expect to have the advantages of the children of #God; you must struggle with hereditary tendencies, and yield not to temptation. “He that cometh to #God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” As a child comes to its parent, so you are to come to Jesus, telling Him just what you want, presenting before Him your need of his presence and grace. The #Lord has promised to give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him; and as an illustration of our need, and his willingness to give, He presents before us a hungry child asking his earthly parent for bread. The question is asked, “What man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he give him a #serpent?” He appeals to the tender natural affection of a parent for his child, and then says, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your #Heavenly Father give the #Holy #Spirit to them that ask Him.”
  • Cursed
    #Genesis 3:14-19

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; ... and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto #Adam he said, ... cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life. #Genesis 3:16, 17.

Eve was told of the sorrow and pain that must henceforth be her portion.... In the creation #God had made her the equal of #Adam. Had they remained obedient to #God—in harmony with His great law of love—they would ever have been in harmony with each other; but sin had brought discord, and now their union could be maintained and harmony preserved only by submission on the part of the one or the other. #Eve had been the first in transgression; and she had fallen into temptation by separating from her companion, contrary to the divine direction. It was by her solicitation that #Adam sinned, and she was now placed in subjection to her husband....

#Eve had been perfectly happy by her husband’s side in her #Eden home; but, like restless modern #Eves, she was flattered with the hope of entering a higher sphere than that which #God had assigned her. In attempting to rise above her original position, she fell far below it. A similar result will be reached by all who are unwilling to take up cheerfully their life duties in accordance with #God’s plan. In their efforts to reach positions for which He has not fitted them, many are leaving vacant the place where they might be a #blessing.... When #God made man, He made him ruler over the earth and all living creatures. So long as Adam remained loyal to #Heaven, all nature was in subjection to him. But when he rebelled against the divine law, the inferior creatures were in rebellion against his rule. Thus the #Lord, in His great mercy, would show men the sacredness of His law, and lead them, by their own experience, to see the danger of setting it aside, even in the slightest degree.

And the life of toil and care which was henceforth to be man’s lot was appointed in love. It was a discipline rendered needful by his sin, to place a check upon the indulgence of appetite and passion, to develop habits of self-control. It was a part of #God’s great plan for man’s recovery from the ruin and degradation of #sin.
  • Decieved by Satan
#Genesis 3:6-14She took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Genesis 3:6.

Having herself #transgressed, she [Eve] became the agent of Satan working the ruin of her husband. In a state of strange, unnatural excitement, with her hands filled with the forbidden fruit, she sought his presence, and related all that had occurred.

An expression of sadness came over the face of #Adam. He appeared astonished and alarmed. To the words of Eve he replied that this must be the foe against whom they had been warned; and by the divine sentence she must die. In answer she urged him to eat, repeating the words of the serpent, that they should not surely die. She reasoned that this must be true, for she felt no evidence of #God’s displeasure, but on the contrary realized a delicious, exhilarating influence, thrilling every faculty with new life, such, she imagined, as inspired the heavenly messengers.

#Adam understood that his companion had transgressed the command of God, disregarded the only prohibition laid upon them as a test of their fidelity and love. There was a terrible struggle in his mind. He mourned that he had permitted #Eve to wander from his side. But now the deed was done; he must be separated from her whose society had been his joy. How could he have it thus? #Adam had enjoyed the companionship of #God and of holy angels. He had looked upon the glory of the #Creator. He understood the high destiny opened to the human race should they remain faithful to #God. Yet all these blessings were lost sight of in the fear of losing that one gift which in his eyes outvalued every other. Love, gratitude, loyalty to the Creator—all were overborne by love to #Eve. She was a part of himself, and he could not endure the thought of separation.... He resolved to share her fate; if she must die, he would die with her. After all, he reasoned, might not the words of the wise serpent be true? Eve was before him, as beautiful and apparently as innocent as before this act of disobedience. She expressed greater love for him than before. No sign of death appeared in her, and he decided to brave the consequences. He seized the fruit and quickly ate.
  • Find God in Prayer

Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. #Jeremiah 29

There are two kinds of #prayer—the prayer of form and the prayer of faith. The repetition of set, customary phrases when the heart feels no need of #God, is formal #prayer.... We should be extremely careful in all our prayers to speak the wants of the heart and to say only what we mean. All the flowery words at our command are not equivalent to one holy desire. The most eloquent prayers are but vain repetitions if they do not express the true sentiments of the heart. But the #prayer that comes from an earnest heart, when the simple wants of the soul are expressed just as we would ask an earthly friend for a favor, expecting that it would be granted—this is the prayer of faith. The publican who went up to the temple to pray is a good example of a sincere, devoted #worshiper. He felt that he was a sinner, and his great need led to an outburst of passionate desire, “#God be merciful to me a sinner.” .

After we have offered our petitions, we are to answer them ourselves as far as possible, and not wait for God to do for us what we can do for ourselves. The help of God is held in reserve for all who demand it. #Divine help is to be combined with human effort, aspiration, and energy. But we cannot reach the battlements of heaven without climbing for ourselves. We cannot be borne up by the prayers of others when we ourselves neglect to pray; for #God has made no such provision for us.... The unlovely traits in our characters are not removed, and replaced by traits that are pure and lovely, without some effort on our part....

In our efforts to follow the copy set us by our #Lord, we shall make crooked lines.... Yet let us not cease our efforts.... Temporary failure should make us lean more heavily on #Christ.
  • There is Power in Prayer
    #Prayer in My Life

Continue in #prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving. #Colossians 4.2

There is no time or place in which it is inappropriate to offer up a petition to God. There is nothing that can prevent us from lifting up our hearts in the spirit of earnest prayer. In the crowds of the street, in the midst of a business engagement, we may send up a petition to #God, and plead for #divine guidance.

We may speak with #Jesus as we walk by the way, and He says, I am at thy right hand. We may commune with God in our hearts; we may walk in #companionship with #Christ. When engaged in our daily labor, we may breathe out our heart’s desire, inaudible to any #human ear; but that word cannot die away into silence, nor can it be lost. Nothing can drown the soul’s desire. It rises above the din of the street, above the noise of machinery. It is #God to whom we are speaking, and our prayer is heard.

Every earnest petition for grace and strength will be answered.... Ask God to do for you those things that you cannot do for yourselves. Tell Jesus everything. Lay open before Him the secrets of your heart; for His eye searches the inmost recesses of the soul, and He reads your thoughts as an open book. When you have asked for the things that are necessary for your soul’s good, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them. Accept His gifts with your whole heart; for #Jesus has died that you might have the precious things of heaven as your own, and at last find a home with the heavenly angels in the kingdom of #God.

If you will find voice and time to pray, God will find time and voice to answer.
    • Dean Jones Amen and amen
    • PossessHisPromises Beautiful. Thank you for this. Intense prayer has been my journey the last several months as our ladies at our church have studied The Lord's Prayer. Our Father cares for Kingdom matters and matters we might think are too small to bother Him with. His thoughts about us are greater than the sand particles and higher than the heavens. Thank you for writing this. Karen
  • Prayer in My Life

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. #Psalm 5:3

The very first outbreathing of the soul in the morning should be for the presence of #Jesus. “Without Me,” He says, “ye can do nothing.” It is Jesus that we need; His light, His life, His spirit, must be ours continually. We need Him every hour. And we should pray in the morning that as the sun illuminates the landscape, and fills the world with light, so the Sun of #Righteousness may shine into the chambers of mind and heart, and make us all light in the #Lord. We cannot do without His presence one moment. The enemy knows when we undertake to do without our Lord, and he is there, ready to fill our minds with his evil suggestions that we may fall from our steadfastness; but it is the desire of the #Lord that from moment to moment we should abide in Him, and thus be complete in Him....

#God designs that every one of us shall be perfect in Him, so that we may represent to the world the perfection of His character. He wants us to be set free from sin, that we may not disappoint #Heaven, that we may not grieve our divine #Redeemer. He does not desire us to profess #Christianity, and yet not avail ourselves of that grace which is able to make us perfect, that we may be found wanting in nothing.

#Prayer and faith will do what no power on earth can accomplish. We are seldom, in all respects, placed in the same position twice. We continually have new scenes and new trials to pass through, where past experience cannot be a sufficient guide. We must have the continual light that comes from #God. #Christ is ever sending messages to those who listen for His voice.
It is a part of #God’s plan to grant us, in answer to the #prayer of #faith, that which He would not bestow did we not thus ask.
  • Faith in My Life

Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the #Lord #Jehovah is everlasting strength. #Isaiah 26:4

His is the greatness, the #power, the #glory, the victory and the #majesty. Let us not limit the #Holy One of #Israel.

What a source to which we can look in all times of trouble; the heart can have no misgivings! #Man is erring, stubborn, #rebellious, and defiant even against #God; but the Lord is kind and #patient and of tender #compassion. He has heaven and earth at His command, and He knows just what we need even before we present our necessities and desires before Him.

We can see only a little way before us; “but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.” He never becomes confused. He sits above the confusion and distractions of the earth, and all things are opened to His divine survey; and from His great and calm #eternity He can order that which His #providence sees is best.

If we were left to ourselves to plan, we should make mistakes. Our #prejudices, our weaknesses, our self-deceptions, and our ignorances would be manifest in many ways. But the work is the #Lord’s, the cause is His; He never leaves His workmen without divine directions.

Whatever burdens lay #heavily, cast them on the Lord. He that keepeth Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. Repose in #God. He is kept in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on #God.

At times it will seem that you cannot take another step. Well, wait and know that “I am #God.” “Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” ... We need to cherish faith.

You must learn the simple art of taking God at His word; then you have solid ground beneath your feet.
    • Dean Jones Jesus is not some historical figure that we idolize and look up to “claiming” Bible Scriptures, taking on a form of godliness but denying its power. No. Jesus IS alive. It is faith that connects us with heaven, and brings us strength for coping with the powers of darkness. In #Christ, #God has provided means for subduing every evil trait, and resisting every #temptation, however strong.

The righteous have ever obtained help from above. How often have the enemies of #God united their strength and wisdom to destroy the character and influence of a few simple persons who trusted in #God. But because the #Lord was for them, none could prevail against them.... Let them be separated from their idols and from the world, and the world will not separate them from God. Christ is our present, all-sufficient Saviour. In Him all fullness dwells. It is the privilege of #Christians to know indeed that #Christ is in them of a truth. “This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our #faith.” All things are possible to him that believeth; and whatsoever things we desire when we pray, if we believe that we receive them we shall have them. This #faith will penetrate the darkest cloud and bring rays of light and hope to the drooping, desponding soul. It is the absence of this faith and trust which brings perplexity, distressing fears, and surmisings of evil. #God will do great things for His people when they put their entire trust in Him.

Through #faith #God’s children have “subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.” And through faith we today are to reach the heights of #God’s purpose for us.
    • Dean Jones “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:4-7
  • Ask in Faith

Let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. James 1:6

It is our privilege, our duty, to receive light from heaven, that we may perceive the wiles of #Satan, and obtain strength to resist his power. Provision has been made for us to come into close connection with #Christ and to enjoy the constant protection of the #angels of #God. Our faith must reach within the veil, where Jesus has entered for us. We must lay hold with firmer grasp on the unfailing promises of #God. We must have faith that will not be denied, #faith that will take hold of the unseen, faith that is steadfast, immovable. Such faith will bring the blessing of heaven to our souls. The light of the glory of #God that shines in the face of Christ may shine upon us, and be reflected upon all around, so that it can be truly said of us, “Ye are the light of the world.” And it is this connection of the soul with Christ, and this alone, that can bring light to the world. Were it not for this connection, the earth would be left in utter darkness.... The deeper the surrounding gloom, the brighter should shine out the light of #Christian faith and Christian example.

The fact that unbelief prevails, that iniquity is increasing all around us, should not cause our #faith to grow dim or our courage to waver.... If we will but seek God with all our hearts, if we will work with that same determined zeal, and believe with that unyielding #faith, the light of #heaven will shine upon us, even as it shone upon the devoted #Enoch.

Oh that I could impress upon all the importance of exercising faith moment by moment, and hour by hour! We are to live the life of faith; for “without faith it is impossible to please God.” Our spiritual strength depends upon our faith.
  • Envy
Pity and #Pray for #Oppressive-Leaders—Because of the wrong actions of those in positions of trust, do not let envious feelings fill your heart. They are to be judged according to the deeds done in the body. You only need to pity and pray for them. The Lord knows every dishonest transaction, and will award them according as their work shall be. The Lord rewards every unselfish action. #Pray with heart and soul and voice, “O God, impress more deeply upon my mind and heart the principles of thy holy law, which is the transcript of thy character. Let me by faith grasp the exceeding great and precious promises, that I may not in my duty and work fail or be discouraged, but perfect holiness in thy fear."

Envy Offspring of #Pride—Though Saul was ever on the alert for an opportunity to destroy David, he stood in fear of him, since it was evident that the Lord was with him. David’s blameless character aroused the wrath of the king; he deemed that the very life and presence of #David cast a reproach upon him, since by contrast it presented his own character to disadvantage. It was envy that made #Saul miserable and put the humble subject of his throne in jeopardy. What untold mischief has this evil trait of character worked in our world! The same enmity existed in the heart of #Saul that stirred the heart of Cain against his brother Abel, because Abel’s works were righteous, and #God honored him, and his own works were #evil, and the Lord could not bless him. Envy is the offspring of pride, and if it is entertained in the heart, it will lead to hatred, and eventually to revenge and murder. #Satan displayed his own character in exciting the fury of Saul against him who had never done him harm.
    • (deleted) It is call (( Sin)), and it can destroy us. We must stay Focus on what is Righteous, so we can continue about His Will. Amen!! Amen!!
  • Can the dead speak to us? Part 2
When people have been led to believe that the dead actually return to communicate with them, #Satan causes those to appear who went into the grave unprepared. They claim to be happy in heaven and even to occupy exalted positions there, and thus the error is widely taught that no difference is made between the #righteous and the #wicked. The pretended visitants from the world of #spirits sometimes utter cautions and warnings which prove to be correct. Then, as confidence is gained, they present #doctrines that directly undermine #faith in the #Scriptures.

With an appearance of deep interest in the well-being of their friends on earth, they insinuate the most #dangerous errors. The fact that they state some truths, and are able at times to foretell future events, gives to their statements an appearance of reliability; and their false teachings are accepted by the multitudes as readily, and believed as implicitly, as if they were the most sacred truths of the Bible. The #law of #God is set aside, the Spirit of grace despised, the blood of the covenant counted an unholy thing. The spirits deny the deity of Christ and place even the Creator on a level with themselves. Thus under a new disguise the great rebel still carries on his warfare against God, begun in heaven and for nearly six thousand years continued upon the earth.

Many endeavor to account for spiritual manifestations by attributing them wholly to fraud and sleight of hand on the part of the medium. But while it is true that the results of trickery have often been palmed off as genuine manifestations, there have been, also, marked exhibitions of supernatural power. The mysterious rapping with which modern spiritualism began was not the result of human trickery or cunning, but was the direct work of evil angels, who thus introduced one of the most successful of soul-destroying delusions. Many will be ensnared through the belief that spiritualism is a merely human imposture; when brought face to face with manifestations which they cannot but regard as supernatural, they will be deceived, and will be led to accept them as the great power of God.

These persons overlook the testimony of the Scriptures concerning the wonders wrought by Satan and his agents. It was by satanic aid that Pharaoh’s magicians were enabled to counterfeit the work of God. Paul testifies that before the second advent of Christ there will be similar manifestations of #satanic power. The coming of the Lord is to be preceded by “the working of #Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness.” 2 #Thessalonians 2:9, 10. And the apostle John, describing the miracle-working power that will be manifested in the last days, declares: “He doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, and deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do.” #Revelation 13:13, 14. No mere impostures are here foretold. Men are deceived by the miracles which #Satan’s agents have power to do, not which they pretend to do.

The #prince of #darkness, who has so long bent the powers of his mastermind to the work of deception, skillfully adapts his temptations to men of all classes and conditions. To persons of culture and refinement he presents spiritualism in its more refined and intellectual aspects, and thus succeeds in drawing many into his snare. The wisdom which spiritualism imparts is that described by the apostle James, which “descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.” James 3:15. This, however, the great deceiver conceals when concealment will best suit his purpose. He who could appear clothed with the brightness of the heavenly seraphs before Christ in the wilderness of temptation, comes to men in the most attractive manner as an angel of light. He appeals to the reason by the presentation of elevating themes; he delights the fancy with enrapturing scenes; and he enlists the affections by his eloquent portrayals of love and charity. He excites the imagination to lofty flights, leading men to take so great pride in their own wisdom that in their hearts they despise the Eternal One. That mighty being who could take the world’s Redeemer to an exceedingly high mountain and bring before Him all the kingdoms of the earth and the glory of them, will present his temptations to men in a manner to pervert the senses of all who are not shielded by #divine power.

Satan beguiles men now as he beguiled #Eve in #Eden by flattery, by kindling a desire to obtain forbidden knowledge, by exciting ambition for self-exaltation. It was cherishing these evils that caused his fall, and through them he aims to compass the ruin of men. “Ye shall be as gods,” he declares, “knowing good and evil.” #Genesis 3:5. #Spiritualism teaches “that man is the creature of progression; that it is his destiny from his birth to progress, even to eternity, toward the #Godhead.” And again: “Each mind will judge itself and not another.” “The #judgment will be right, because it is the judgment of self.... The #throne is within you.” Said a #spiritualistic #teacher, as the “spiritual consciousness” awoke within him: “My fellow men, all were unfallen #demigods.” And another declares: “Any just and perfect being is Christ.”

Thus, in place of the #righteousness and perfection of the #infinite #God, the true object of adoration; in place of the perfect righteousness of His law, the true standard of human attainment, #Satan has substituted the sinful, erring nature of man himself as the only object of adoration, the only rule of judgment, or standard of character. This is progress, not upward, but downward.

It is a law both of the intellectual and the spiritual nature that by beholding we become changed. The mind gradually adapts itself to the subjects upon which it is allowed to dwell. It becomes assimilated to that which it is accustomed to love and reverence. #Man will never rise higher than his standard of purity or goodness or truth. If self is his loftiest ideal, he will never attain to anything more exalted. Rather, he will constantly sink lower and lower. The #grace of God alone has power to exalt man. Left to himself, his course must inevitably be downward.

To the #self-indulgent, the pleasure-loving, the sensual, #spiritualism presents itself under a less subtle disguise than to the more refined and intellectual; in its grosser forms they find that which is in harmony with their inclinations. Satan studies every indication of the frailty of human nature, he marks the sins which each individual is inclined to commit, and then he takes care that opportunities shall not be wanting to gratify the tendency to #evil. He #tempts men to excess in that which is in itself lawful, causing them, through intemperance, to weaken physical, mental, and moral power. He has destroyed and is destroying thousands through the indulgence of the passions, thus brutalizing the entire nature of man. And to complete his work, he declares, through the spirits that “true knowledge places man above all law;” that “whatever is, is right;” that “God doth not condemn;” and that “all sins which are committed are innocent.” When the people are thus led to believe that desire is the highest law, that liberty is license, and that man is accountable only to himself, who can wonder that corruption and depravity teem on every hand? Multitudes eagerly accept teachings that leave them at liberty to obey the promptings of the carnal heart. The reins of self-control are laid upon the neck of lust, the powers of mind and soul are made subject to the animal propensities, and #Satan exultingly sweeps into his net thousands who profess to be followers of Christ.

But none need be deceived by the lying claims of spiritualism. God has given the world sufficient light to enable them to discover the snare. As already shown, the theory which forms the very foundation of spiritualism is at war with the plainest statements of Scripture. The Bible declares that the dead know not anything, that their thoughts have perished; they have no part in anything that is done under the sun; they know nothing of the joys or sorrows of those who were dearest to them on #earth.

Furthermore, God has expressly forbidden all pretended communication with departed spirits. In the days of the Hebrews there was a class of people who claimed, as do the spiritualists of today, to hold communication with the dead. But the “familiar spirits,” as these visitants from other worlds were called, are declared by the Bible to be “the spirits of devils.” (Compare Numbers 25:1-3; Psalm 106:28; 1 Corinthians 10:20; Revelation 16:14.) The work of dealing with familiar spirits was pronounced an abomination to the Lord, and was solemnly forbidden under penalty of death. #Leviticus 19:31; 20:27. The very name of witchcraft is now held in contempt. The claim that men can hold intercourse with evil spirits is regarded as a fable of the Dark Ages. But spiritualism, which numbers its converts by hundreds of thousands, yea, by millions, which has made its way into scientific circles, which has invaded churches, and has found favor in legislative bodies, and even in the courts of kings—this mammoth deception is but a revival, in a new disguise, of the #witchcraft condemned and prohibited of old.

If there were no other evidence of the real character of spiritualism, it should be enough for the Christian that the spirits make no difference between righteousness and sin, between the noblest and purest of the apostles of Christ and the most corrupt of the servants of Satan. By representing the basest of men as in heaven, and highly exalted there, Satan says to the world: “No matter how wicked you are; no matter whether you believe or disbelieve God and the Bible. Live as you please; heaven is your home.” The spiritualist teachers virtually declare: “Everyone that doeth evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and He delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?” Malachi 2:17. Saith the word of God: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.” Isaiah 5:20.

The #apostles, as personated by these lying spirits, are made to contradict what they wrote at the dictation of the Holy Spirit when on earth. They deny the divine origin of the Bible, and thus tear away the foundation of the Christian’s hope and put out the light that reveals the way to heaven. Satan is making the world believe that the Bible is a mere fiction, or at least a book suited to the infancy of the race, but now to be lightly regarded, or cast aside as obsolete. And to take the place of the word of God he holds out spiritual manifestations. Here is a channel wholly under his control; by this means he can make the world believe what he will. The Book that is to judge him and his followers he puts in the shade, just where he wants it; the Saviour of the world he makes to be no more than a common man. And as the Roman guard that watched the tomb of Jesus spread the lying report which the priests and elders put into their mouths to disprove His resurrection, so do the believers in spiritual manifestations try to make it appear that there is nothing miraculous in the circumstances of our Saviour’s life. After thus seeking to put Jesus in the background, they call attention to their own miracles, declaring that these far exceed the works of Christ.

It is true that spiritualism is now changing its form and, veiling some of its more objectionable features, is assuming a Christian guise. But its utterances from the platform and the press have been before the public for many years, and in these its real character stands revealed. These teachings cannot be denied or hidden. – {GC 557.2}Even in its present form, so far from being more worthy of toleration than formerly, it is really a more dangerous, because a more subtle, deception. While it formerly denounced Christ and the Bible, it now professes to accept both. But the Bible is interpreted in a manner that is pleasing to the unrenewed heart, while its solemn and vital truths are made of no effect. Love is dwelt upon as the chief attribute of God, but it is degraded to a weak sentimentalism, making little distinction between good and evil. God’s justice, His denunciations of sin, the requirements of His holy law, are all kept out of sight. The people are taught to regard the Decalogue as a dead letter. Pleasing, bewitching fables captivate the senses and lead men to reject the Bible as the foundation of their faith. Christ is as verily denied as before; but Satan has so blinded the eyes of the people that the deception is not discerned.

There are few who have any just conception of the deceptive power of spiritualism and the danger of coming under its influence. Many tamper with it merely to gratify their curiosity. They have no real faith in it and would be filled with horror at the thought of yielding themselves to the spirits’ control. But they venture upon the forbidden ground, and the mighty destroyer exercises his power upon them against their will. Let them once be induced to submit their minds to his direction, and he holds them captive. It is impossible, in their own strength, to break away from the bewitching, alluring spell. Nothing but the power of God, granted in answer to the earnest prayer of faith, can deliver these ensnared souls.

All who indulge sinful traits of character, or willfully cherish a known sin, are inviting the temptations of Satan. They separate themselves from God and from the watchcare of His angels; as the evil one presents his deceptions, they are without defense and fall an easy prey. Those who thus place themselves in his power little realize where their course will end. Having achieved their overthrow, the tempter will employ them as his agents to lure others to ruin.

Says the prophet Isaiah: “When they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Isaiah 8:19, 20. If men had been willing to receive the truth so plainly stated in the Scriptures concerning the nature of man and the state of the dead, they would see in the claims and manifestations of spiritualism the working of Satan with power and signs and lying wonders. But rather than yield the liberty so agreeable to the carnal heart, and renounce the sins which they love, multitudes close their eyes to the light and walk straight on, regardless of warnings, while Satan weaves his snares about them, and they become his prey. “Because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved,” therefore “God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.” 2 Thessalonians 2:10, 11.

Those who oppose the teachings of spiritualism are assailing, not men alone, but Satan and his angels. They have entered upon a contest against principalities and powers and wicked spirits in high places. Satan will not yield one inch of ground except as he is driven back by the power of heavenly messengers. The people of God should be able to meet him, as did our Saviour, with the words: “It is written.” Satan can quote Scripture now as in the days of Christ, and he will pervert its teachings to sustain his delusions. Those who would stand in this time of peril must understand for themselves the testimony of the Scriptures.

Many will be confronted by the spirits of devils personating beloved relatives or friends and declaring the most dangerous heresies. These visitants will appeal to our tenderest sympathies and will work miracles to sustain their pretensions. We must be prepared to withstand them with the Bible truth that the dead know not anything and that they who thus appear are the #spirits of #devils.

Just before us is “the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.” Revelation 3:10. All whose faith is not firmly established upon the word of #God will be deceived and overcome. Satan “works with all deceivableness of unrighteousness” to gain control of the children of men, and his deceptions will continually increase. But he can gain his object only as men voluntarily yield to his #temptations. Those who are earnestly seeking a knowledge of the truth and are striving to purify their souls through obedience, thus doing what they can to prepare for the conflict, will find, in the God of truth, a sure defense. “Because thou hast kept the word of My patience, I also will keep thee” (verse 10), is the %Saviour’s promise. He would sooner send every angel out of heaven to protect His people than leave one soul that trusts in Him to be overcome by Satan.

The prophet #Isaiah brings to view the fearful deception which will come upon the wicked, causing them to count themselves secure from the judgments of God: “We have made a covenant with #death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under #falsehood have we hid ourselves.” #Isaiah 28:15. In the class here described are included those who in their stubborn impenitence comfort themselves with the assurance that there is to be no punishment for the sinner; that all mankind, it matters not how corrupt, are to be exalted to #heaven, to become as the angels of #God. But still more emphatically are those making a covenant with death and an agreement with hell, who renounce the truths which Heaven has provided as a defense for the righteous in the day of trouble, and accept the refuge of lies offered by #Satan in its stead—the delusive pretensions of #spiritualism.

Marvelous beyond expression is the blindness of the people of this generation. Thousands reject the word of God as #unworthy of #belief and with eager confidence receive the deceptions of #Satan. Skeptics and scoffers denounce the bigotry of those who contend for the faith of prophets and apostles, and they divert themselves by holding up to ridicule the solemn declarations of the Scriptures concerning #Christ and the plan of salvation, and the retribution to be visited upon the rejecters of the truth. They affect great pity for minds so narrow, weak, and superstitious as to acknowledge the claims of God and obey the requirements of His law. They manifest as much assurance as if, indeed, they had made a covenant with #death and an agreement with hell—as if they had erected an impassable, impenetrable barrier between themselves and the vengeance of #God. Nothing can arouse their fears. So fully have they yielded to the #tempter, so closely are they united with him, and so thoroughly imbued with his spirit, that they have no power and no inclination to break away from his snare.

Satan has long been preparing for his final effort to deceive the world. The foundation of his work was laid by the assurance given to #Eve in #Eden: “Ye shall not surely die.” “In the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” #Genesis 3:4, 5. Little by little he has prepared the way for his masterpiece of deception in the development of spiritualism. He has not yet reached the full accomplishment of his designs; but it will be reached in the last remnant of time. Says the prophet: “I saw three unclean spirits like frogs; ... they are the spirits of #devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God #Almighty.” #Revelation 16:13, 14. Except those who are kept by the power of #God, through faith in His word, the whole world will be swept into the ranks of this delusion. The people are fast being lulled to a fatal security, to be awakened only by the outpouring of the wrath of God.

Saith the #Lord #God: “%Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.” #Isaiah 28:17, 18.

The foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 2 Timothy 2:19.

#Pray for the impartation of the #Holy #Spirit and believe that it is for you.... Search your own hearts, and prepare the vessel for the reception of the Holy Spirit. Do not be satisfied with your present experience. Sink the shaft deeper and still deeper into the mine of truth.... –

It is the privilege of every believer in #Christ to possess #Christ’s nature, a nature far above that which Adam forfeited by transgression. He who sees the Son by faith and believes in Him, is obedient to the commandments of #God, and in this obedience he finds everlasting life.... You will not have a firm religious experience unless you dig deep, and build your house upon the #Rock.... –

#Satan works through men who will be worked, blinding the perceptive faculties, paralyzing the senses with selfish ease and love of the world, and unless a special message direct from heaven comes to them they will not discern their peril.

Human nature is vacillating. Men grasp the #truth with their perceptive powers, but they refuse to separate themselves from the world. Men will not consent to be #God’s peculiar people. They know the truth of the Bible, but they do not want to obey, and they turn from the truth. They act out their unbelief, and darkness comes upon their souls. Choosing their own way they are left to be filled with their own devices. Truth is insulted, #Christ ignored, and perdition will be their portion unless they turn and repent....

While these opposing influences are at work to lead away from the truth, away from conviction, away from heaven into the broad path of self-gratification, the agents of #God are to work to save souls that are ready to perish. After wrestling with #God in prayer, put on the armor, and engage in earnest labor for the conversion of souls. Let men see that with you truth is not a jest, but an eternal reality. You are to deal with principles as you have never dealt with them before. Scatter the seeds of truth with no sparing hand. Sow beside all waters. Have no prescribed limits which you will not pass, but [work] with all the powers that God has given you. Then the people will know you as a man who believes the truth, and to whom truth is a reality. Let not your faith fail. Bring your mind to the point of decision or shake yourself free from all slothfulness and inaction.... Hold fast. Leave no means untried. Work, and watch, and pray, and walk humbly with #God.
  • EDEN
Happy is the man that findeth #wisdom.”

The system of education instituted at the beginning of the world was to be a model for man throughout all aftertime. As an illustration of its principles a model school was established in #Eden, the home of our first parents. The #Garden of #Eden was the schoolroom, nature was the lesson book, the #Creator Himself was the instructor, and the parents of the human family were the students.

Created to be “the image and glory of God” (1 #Corinthians 11:7), Adam and Eve had received endowments not unworthy of their high destiny. Graceful and symmetrical in form, regular and beautiful in feature, their countenances glowing with the tint of health and the light of joy and hope, they bore in outward resemblance the likeness of their #Maker. Nor was this likeness manifest in the physical nature only. Every faculty of mind and soul reflected the Creator’s glory. Endowed with high mental and spiritual gifts, Adam and Eve were made but “little lower than the angels” (#Hebrews 2:7), that they might not only discern the wonders of the visible universe, but comprehend moral responsibilities and obligations.

“The #Lord #God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there He put the man whom He had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord #God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden.” #Genesis 2:8, 9. Here, amidst the beautiful scenes of nature untouched by sin, our first parents were to receive their education.

In His interest for His children, our heavenly #Father personally directed their education. Often they were visited by His messengers, the holy angels, and from them received counsel and instruction. Often as they walked in the #garden in the cool of the day they heard the voice of #God, and face to face held communion with the Eternal. His thoughts toward them were “thoughts of peace, and not of evil.” #Jeremiah 29:11. His every purpose was their highest good.

To #Adam and #Eve was committed the care of the garden, “to dress it and to keep it.” #Genesis 2:15. Though rich in all that the Owner of the universe could supply, they were not to be idle. Useful occupation was appointed them as a #blessing, to strengthen the body, to expand the mind, and to develop the character.

The book of nature, which spread its living lessons before them, afforded an exhaustless source of instruction and delight. On every leaf of the forest and stone of the mountains, in every shining star, in earth and sea and sky, #God’s name was written. With both the animate and the inanimate creation—with leaf and flower and tree, and with every living creature, from the leviathan of the waters to the mote in the sunbeam—the dwellers in #Eden held converse, gathering from each the secrets of its life. God’s glory in the heavens, the innumerable worlds in their orderly revolutions, “the balancings of the clouds” (Job 37:16), the mysteries of light and sound, of day and night—all were objects of study by the pupils of earth’s first school.

The laws and operations of nature, and the great principles of truth that govern the spiritual universe, were opened to their minds by the #infinite Author of all. In “the light of the knowledge of the glory of God” (2 #Corinthians 4:6), their mental and spiritual powers developed, and they realized the highest pleasures of their holy existence.

As it came from the Creator’s hand, not only the Garden of Eden but the whole earth was exceedingly beautiful. No taint of sin, or shadow of death, marred the fair creation. God’s glory “covered the heavens, and the earth was full of His praise.” “The morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy.” Habakkuk 3:3; Job 38:7. Thus was the earth a fit emblem of Him who is “abundant in goodness and truth” #(Exodus 34:6); a fit study for those who were made in His image. The Garden of Eden was a representation of what God desired the whole earth to become, and it was His purpose that, as the human family increased in numbers, they should establish other homes and schools like the one He had given. Thus in course of time the whole earth might be occupied with homes and schools where the words and the works of #God should be studied, and where the students should thus be fitted more and more fully to reflect, throughout endless ages, the light of the knowledge of His #glory.
  • The Second Death
#Satan rushes into the midst of his followers and tries to stir up the multitude to action. But fire from #God out of heaven is rained upon them, and the great men, and mighty men, the noble, the poor and miserable, are all consumed together. I saw that some were quickly destroyed, while others suffered longer. They were punished according to the deeds done in the body. Some were many days consuming, and just as long as there was a portion of them unconsumed, all the sense of suffering remained. Said the angel, “The worm of life shall not die; their fire shall not be quenched as long as there is the least particle for it to prey upon.”

#Satan and his #angels suffered long. Satan bore not only the weight and punishment of his own sins, but also of the sins of the redeemed host, which had been placed upon him; and he must also suffer for the ruin of souls which he had caused. Then I saw that #Satan and all the wicked host were consumed, and the justice of God was satisfied; and all the angelic host, and all the redeemed saints, with a loud voice said, “Amen!”

Said the #angel, “#Satan is the root, his children are the branches. They are now consumed root and branch. They have died an everlasting death. They are never to have a #resurrection, and #God will have a clean #universe.” I then looked and saw the fire which had consumed the #wicked, burning up the rubbish and purifying the earth. Again I looked and saw the earth purified. There was not a single sign of the curse. The broken, uneven surface of the earth now looked like a level, extensive plain. God’s entire universe was clean, and the great controversy was forever ended. Wherever we looked, everything upon which the eye rested was beautiful and holy. And all the redeemed host, old and young, great and small, cast their glittering crowns at the feet of their #Redeemer, and prostrated themselves in adoration before Him, and worshiped Him that liveth forever and ever. The beautiful new earth, with all its #glory, was the eternal inheritance of the saints. The #kingdom and #dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, was then given to the saints of the #Most~High, who were to possess it forever, even forever and ever.
  • The Lamb of God
Behold the Lamb of #God, which taketh away the #sin of the #world. John 1:29.

To fallen man was revealed the plan of infinite #sacrifice through which #salvation was to be provided. Nothing but the #death of #God’s dear Son could expiate man’s sin, and Adam marveled at the goodness of God in providing such a ransom for the sinner. Through the love of God, a star of hope illumined the terrible future that spreads before the transgressor. Through the institution of the typical system of sacrifice and offering, the death of #Christ was ever to be kept before guilty man, that he might better comprehend the nature of sin, the results of #transgression, and the merit of the divine offering. Had there been no sin, man would never have known #death. But in the innocent offering slain by his own hand he beheld the fruits of sin—the death of the #Son of God in his behalf. He sees the immutable character of the law he has #transgressed, and confesses his sin; he relies upon the merits of the Lamb of #God....

In becoming man’s substitute, in bearing the curse which should fall upon man, #Christ has pledged Himself in behalf of the race to maintain the sacred and exalted honor of His #Father’s law.... God has given the world into the hands of #Christ, that He may completely vindicate the binding claims of the law and make manifest the #holiness of every principle.

The sacrifice of beasts shadowed forth the sinless offering of God’s dear Son, and pointed forward to His death upon the #cross. But at the crucifixion type met #antitype, and the typical system there ceased....

The Son of God is the center of the great plan of redemption which covers all dispensations. He is the “#Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8). He is the Redeemer of the fallen sons and daughters of Adam in all ages of human probation. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under #heaven given among men, whereby we must be #saved” (#Acts 4:12).
    • Dean Jones “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
      ‭‭I Peter‬ ‭5:6-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
  • SIN
Thou art the #anointed #cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so. ... Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. #Ezekiel 28:14, 15.

It is impossible to explain the origin of sin so as to give a reason for its existence. Yet enough may be understood concerning both the origin and the final disposition of sin, to make fully manifest the #justice and #benevolence of #God in all His dealings with evil. Nothing is more plainly taught in Scripture than that God was in no wise responsible for the entrance of #sin.... #Sin is an intruder, for whose presence no reason can be given. It is mysterious, unaccountable; to excuse it, is to defend it. Could excuse for it be found, or cause be shown for its existence, it would cease to be sin. Our only definition of sin is that given in the word of #God; it is “the transgression of the law;” (1 #John 3:4) it is the outworking of a principle at war with the great law of love which is the foundation of the divine government.

#Sin originated in #self-seeking. #Lucifer, the covering cherub, desired to be first in heaven. He sought to gain control of heavenly beings, to draw them away from their Creator, and to win their homage to himself.... Thus he deceived angels. Thus he deceived men. He led them to doubt the word of #God, and to distrust His goodness.... Thus he drew men to join him in rebellion against #God, and the night of woe settled down upon the world.

#Sin appeared in a perfect universe.... The reason of its inception or development was never explained and never can be, even at the last great day when the judgment shall sit and the books be opened.... At that day it will be evident to all that there is not, and never was, any cause for #sin. At the final condemnation of #Satan and his #angels and of all men who have finally identified themselves with him as transgressors of #God’s law, every mouth will be stopped. When the hosts of rebellion, from the first great rebel to the last transgressor, are asked why they have broken the law of #God, they will be speechless. There will be no answer to give.
  • An Appetite for God's Word

'His Word can cut through our spirits.' #Hebrews 4:12 CEV
As you read the #Bible, #God will give you strength and guidance for your life that you simply can't get any other way. Eliphaz said to Job the #patriarch: 'He bruises, but he binds up; he wounds, but his hands make whole' (Job 5:18 NKJV). That's what God does to you as you read the Scriptures. 'His #Word can cut through our spirits' (#Hebrews 4:12 CEV).
Others see what we do, but when we get alone with #God and open the #Scriptures, he reveals to us what we are. He brings to the surface long-standing and unresolved issues, and helps us to deal with them. He confronts us over our stubborn habits and shows us how to conquer them. He pinpoints our #selfish and unloving attitudes, giving us a chance to #repent and change our ways. The old #Quakers had a saying: 'Sin will keep you from your #Bible, and your Bible will keep you from #sin.' You say, 'But when I get up in the morning, I'm so busy that I don't have time to read the #Bible.' Then read it when you come home at night! You say, 'By the time I get home from work at night, I'm exhausted and can't #concentrate on anything!' You must rearrange your priorities. If you spend hours watching television, surely you can spend some time each day reading your #Bible. The truth is that we make time for the things that we want, that we value, and that we enjoy.
So ask God to give you a greater appetite for his Word. Then read your Bible, and watch your appetite for it grow!
  • What to do While You're Waiting?

    'I waited patiently for the #Lord; he...heard my cry.' #Psalm 40:1 NIV
Anything that's built well is put together slowly and carefully.

#Impatience is a sign of #immaturity; children can't wait for anything. Try to understand this: your impatience won't move #God faster. He works according to his own #timetable. #Paul writes, 'We know that all things work...according to his purpose' (#Romans 8:28 NKJV). Just because the door hasn't yet opened doesn't mean that God has changed his mind. The timing may not be right for him to get maximum glory, and you to get maximum benefit.
So, what should you do while you're waiting? Two things: (1) Pray for #God's will. And don't permit things to come into your life that are contrary to it, especially hurry and worry. Know how to allocate your time, your energy and your money, including whom you should and shouldn't spend time with. #God says, 'I make known the end from the beginning' (#Isaiah 46:10 NIV). Before God starts anything, he has a clear picture of the end goal, and he ordains the steps that lead you to it. (2) While you're waiting - #rejoice. 'Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vine, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the #Lord, I will be joyful in God my #Saviour' (#Habakkuk 3:17 NIV).
Start thanking God today for what he's already done, and for what he's going to do in the future on your behalf. Because he will - he absolutely will come through for you. AMEN
  • A Sad Day For The Universe
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. #Romans 5:12.

When our first parents were placed in the #beautiful garden of #Eden, they were tested in regard to their loyalty to #God. They were free to choose the service of God, or by disobedience to ally themselves with the enemy of God and man.... If they disregard God’s commands, and listened to the voice of Satan, as he spoke through the serpent, they would not only forfeit their claim to #Eden, but to life itself.

The first great moral lesson given Adam was that of #self-denial. The reins of #self-government were placed in his hands. #Judgment, reason, and conscience were to bear sway....

#Adam and #Eve were permitted to partake of every tree in the Garden save one. There was only a single prohibition. The forbidden tree was as attractive and lovely as any of the trees in the Garden. It was called the tree of knowledge, because in partaking of that tree, of which God had said, “Thou shalt not eat of it,” (#Genesis 2:17) they would have a knowledge of sin, an experience in disobedience.

With what intense interest the whole universe watched the conflict that was to decide the position of Adam and Eve. How attentively the angels listened to the words of Satan, the originator of sin, as he ... sought to make of none effect the law of God through his deceptive reasoning! How anxiously they waited to see if the holy pair would be deluded by the tempter, and yield to his arts! They asked themselves, Will the holy pair transfer their #faith and love from the Father and Son to Satan? Will they accept his falsehoods as truth?

Adam and Eve persuaded themselves that in so small a matter as eating of the forbidden fruit, there could not result such terrible consequences as God had declared. But this small matter was sin, the transgression of God’s #immutable and #holy #law, and it opened the floodgates of death and untold woe upon our world.... Let us not esteem sin as a trivial thing.
  • Co-Workers in Creation
And #God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. ... So God created man in his own image, in the image of God #created he him; #male and #female created he them. #Genesis 1:26, 27.

After the earth was created, and the beasts upon it, the #Father and #Son carried out their purpose, which was designed before the fall of Satan, to make man in their own image. They had wrought together in the creation of the earth and every living thing upon it. And now God said to His Son, “Let us make man in our #image.”

#Adam and #Eve came forth from the hand of their Creator in the perfection of every physical, mental, and #spiritual endowment. God planted for them a garden and surrounded them with everything lovely and attractive to the eye, and that which their physical necessities required..

The holy pair looked upon nature as a picture of unsurpassed loveliness. The brown earth was clothed with a carpet of living green, diversified with an endless variety of #self-propagating, self-perpetuating flowers. Shrubs, flowers, and trailing vines regaled the senses with their beauty and fragrance. The many varieties of lofty trees were laden with fruit of every kind and of delicious flavor. ...

Adam and Eve could trace the skill and glory of God in every spire of grass and in every shrub and flower. The natural loveliness which surrounded them, like a mirror reflected the wisdom, excellence, and love of their heavenly Father. And their songs of affection and praise rose sweetly and reverentially to heaven, harmonizing with the songs of the exalted angels, and with the happy birds who were caroling forth their music without a care. There was no #disease, #decay, nor #death anywhere. Life, life was in everything the eye rested upon. The #atmosphere was impregnated with #life....

Adam could reflect that he was created in the #image of #God, to be like Him in righteousness and holiness. His mind was capable of continual cultivation, expansion, refinement and noble elevation, for #God was his #teacher, and #angels were his companions.
